1. Where is your shop?
We are an appointment only, residence based business located in East Fort Worth, TX. Our address is provided upon scheduling an appointment.
2. How do I make an appointment?
Please schedule online , call (817) 902-1475 and or email us at phalondeshun_yahoo.com to schedule an appointment.
3. How many fittings will I need?
This depends on your project. The first appointment is always a complimentary, no-obligation consultation with Phalandrea. Subsequent fittings are free of charge and we do not limit the number of fittings you can have. On average, a simple alterations job requires 1-2 fittings, while custom projects generally require an average of 3-6. Bridal alterations are covered below.
4. How much will it cost?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide estimates over the phone or via email. Our charges are based solely on the work done, not per fitting, and we cannot name a price for something we have not yet seen. Therefore, estimates and quotes are only available by a no-obligation, complimentary consultation with Phalandrea.
5. How long will it take?
Alterations, repairs, and mending are normally completed within a week. It can take anywhere from one week to three months to create custom garments or restyle vintage ones. A timeline specific to your project and circumstances will be arranged during your initial appointment.
6. How long will it take if I'm in a big hurry?
Short notice projects are available for an extra fee. This fee will be determined at your consultation.
7. When do I pick up and pay for my garment?
We will schedule a pick-up appointment with you when your project is nearing completion, either by phone or at one of your fittings. There is a50% Deposite required to begin custom design and the other 50% due at pick up. Please be ready to pay for your garment when you pick up. We accept cash or Money Orders; we are currently unable to accommodate debit or credit card payments.
8. Do you do custom garments?
Certainly! Call or email us to arrange a complimentary consultation to discuss your custom project. Bring in any items, images, or samples that will help convey your custom creation to our team. Please note that custom garments are almost always more expensive than a similar ready-to-wear item off the rack. However, if quality craftsmanship and a customized, tailored fit is your highest priority, the value of a custom garment can be priceless.
9. I've changed some ideas about my project. How do I communicate these changes to you?
Changes must be requested in person at fittings. We are happy to set up an appointment to do this.
10. I'm sorry, but I can't make my appointment!
Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment if you will not be able to make it. We will try our best to reschedule you, but the spring/summer bridal season can make this difficult (or impossible) to do. If you have a time-sensitive project, we greatly discourage rescheduling, as it could result in your project not being completed by your desired deadline.
11. What is the bridal alterations process?
We start at the top, perfecting the bodice fit first; then move on to the skirt; then hemming, bustling, and finally detailing to complete. Our "no cut" rule ensures that we always have an opportunity to check the fit prior to finalizing.
12. What is the bridal alterations timeline?
We prefer that brides begin alterations early in their engagement, 3-8 months before the wedding date. The earlier, the better: it reduces bridal stress! Bridal gowns generally require an average of 3-6 fittings, but complex gowns sometimes need upwards of 12. After your final fitting, the gown goes home with you for wear testing. It is very important that you use this time to practice in and get adjusted to your gown.
You return with it 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding date or departure for a “Last Look” appointment. If any final adjustments are needed, they will be addressed at this time. We are the only custom bridal alterations service offering this essential step, and we are not finished until Last Look is fulfilled. After this appointment we send your dress to be pressed and will have it ready for pick-up before your big day!
13. My mother and sister are in town for just a couple of days and they want to see my wedding dress!
We'll accommodate you if we can. Please inquire prior to your appointment. Our residence-based business is designed to contain one-on-one consultations and fittings, with little to no extra spatial capacity for guests.
14. What do I need to bring to an appointment?
For general alterations, please bring appropriate undergarments and footwear, so that we can ensure an accurate fit. For bridal projects, this is not mandatory until after the initial appointment, but feel free to bring these if you already have theme process works
